Dear Families,
During Cc week we learned about how crayons are made. We practiced reading color words, and reviewed clocks. We graphed our favorite kind of candy choosing from the following: Air Head Extremes, M & M’s, Skittles, Jolly Ranchers, and suckers. We talked about New Year resolutions and journaled our ideas. Since we had 2 Zz week activities that we didn’t get to before Christmas, we did them this week. The kindergartners watched a Backyard Safari video about caterpillars and butterflies.
Next week we will be learning about the letter Ee. Sharing for next week is free choice.
The end of the quarter is currently January 14th. Our school does not have scheduled conferences at the end of the second quarter, but we would be happy to set a time to meet with or call anyone who has questions or concerns.
The students will not have school on Monday, January 19th. The teachers get to have lots of meetings that day.
Please make sure that your child is prepared to go outside every day. The boys and girls need something for their heads/ears, boots (when there is snow or a lot of mud), gloves or mittens, snow pants (when there is snow), and warm coats. It is important that every item is marked with a name. An extra pair of socks put in the school bag would be appreciated! In fact, an extra shirt, pair of pants, and underwear would be appreciated, too. We are to the point that our extra clothes supply is depleted. Moms and Dads will be called to bring in extra clothes if their child needs some because of an accident due to spilled milk, mud, bathroom problems, etc.
We hope that you have an enjoyable weekend!
Mrs. Owens, Ms. Howard, Mr. Degner, Mrs. Pokorny, Mrs. Rohlfsen, and Mrs. Herink
